Stop the Seal Hunt!

Yes, unfortunately it’s that time of year again. That time of year when a horde of questionably endowed thugs take to the ice to batter and skin hundreds of thousands of defenceless seal pups.

IFAW desperately need your help and support, in both attempting to stop the hunt and also sending monitors to the ice in case it happens. Please please please visit StopTheSealHunt.org and help stop this madness - every single effort could make the difference!

Selected stories you need to know about:

    • IFAW’s photo of the week is a wonderful one of rescued penguins from Patagonia being released back into the wild. Simply beautiful.
    • IFAW’s animal rescue blog highlights a story from MSNBC covering the intertwined fates of tigers and orangutans in Indonesia. It includes an amazing picture of an abandoned tiger cub and orangutan baby actually cuddling.
    • To celebrate their 90th anniversary of caring for pets, the PDSA have launched a commemorative beany baby dog called “Pads”.
    • PETA introduce us to the suffering endured by sled dogs in the legendary Iditarod Trail sled dog race. The race is now far removed from its traditional roots and PETA are asking for support in canvassing the race sponsors (who include Wells Fargo, Chevron and DaimlerChrysler) to withdraw their (substantial) involvement.
